Understanding risk

Any investment comes with a level of risk. By risk we mean how much your investments can go up or potentially down in value.

Higher-risk investments are more likely to be volatile meaning the fund can go up and down in value more frequently and by larger amounts. Investments that are seen as lower-risk are steadier but likely to give you less money back in the long term.

Watch our short animation to find out the basics about risk and investments.

Understand your own attitude to risk by using the eValuate tool.
